Obituary of Lizabeth Jane Katcoff

Lizabeth Jane Katcoff, of Medford, formerly of Belmont and Winchester, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 30.  She was 62 years of age.

Born in Boston and raised in Winchester, she was the daughter of the late Martin, and the late Eleanor (Cole) Katcoff.  “Liz,” as she was known to family and friends, was a graduate of Winchester High School.

Liz had a passion for working with flowers, and had worked as a florist at several area shops, including  the floral department at the Home Depot.  In her spare time, she loved knitting, gardening, reading, sci-fi movies, and she was a fan of Stephen King and the Harry Potter books.

Liz also loved animals.  She had many pet dogs and rescue cats, and she also did volunteer work at local animal rescue shelters.  She would often put her knitting skills to work making blankets and even sweaters for the animals.

Lizabeth is survived by her daughter, Jennie Katcoff of Medford; and her brother, Martin “Chip” Katcoff, Jr. and his wife Michi of North Reading.

A graveside service will be held at the Temple Beth Israel Cemetery, North Avenue, Wakefield on Wednesday, May 8 at 1:30 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.   In lieu of flowers memorials in Liz’s name may be made to Unconditional Love Pet Rescue, 129 Country Road 6031, Green Forest, AR 72638
