Obituary of Margaret Rita Martell
Margaret “Peggy” R. Martell (Brennick), age 82, died at home in Winchester, MA, on July 13, 2019 surrounded by family.
Born October 15, 1936, in Brighton, MA, she grew up in Medford, MA lived in Baltimore, MD, Wilton, CT, and, Somerville, MA before settling in Winchester with her beloved husband. She worked in the Medford School system for over 30 years and held various positions but her favorite was teaching fifth grade.
Survivors include her daughter Jeanne Martell, her son-in-law Edmund (Ed) Griswold and her two very special granddaughters Lily and Kate Griswold, her grandnephew Brendan Donovan-Tiernan, her sisters, Kathleen Donovan, of Winchester, MA previously Tuftonboro NH, Roberta Dooley of Concord, NH and Jeanne A. Hennessey of Billerica, MA (deceased) along with many nieces, nephews and their children. Her husband, Richard (Dick), preceded Peggy in death.
A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Tuesday, July 16 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral from the Sullivan Funeral Home on Wednesday July 17 at 8:45 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St, Winchester, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with a burial in Wildwood Cemetery Winchester.
