One of my earliest memories of uncle Barney was the time he came over in his 1959 corvette. I had a race car helmet they put on me and he took me for a ride.(too young to drive) Very early coolness. A later humorous memory was the time he took me out in a canoe at our family camp. He was teaching me how to paddle and over we went. They had to send the boat out to rescue us. Mrs Vient, John, Bob, Jeanie, Andrea, Janice..... I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know it's been a very hard last many many months but from what I kept hearing from My Mom you were all such a great support system for one another and Barney was a very blessed and lucky man to have the family he had. I send you all my love and prayers in getting through the next days and weeks. It saddens me that I won't be able to attend the services but know that I will be thinking of all of you. To Margaret and all the members of the Vient family -- my deepest condolences to each of you. It was a real joy to be Margaret and Barney's neighbors for 11 years. Barney was a kind, steady presence, always welcoming and patient with our barking dogs and their mischievous escapes. I knew from the family he raised that he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. May you each know the comforting presence of God's Holy Spirit as you celebrate his life and grieve his passing. He suffers no more and is once again whole in body and spirit in his heavenly home.
