Obituary of Catherine Couture
Catherine M. (Agneta) Couture, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital, with her two daughters by her side, on Sunday evening, November 11, 2012. The beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Couture, she was 92 years old.
Catherine was born in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Agenta. Catherine was raised in educated in Everett. She worked as a Waitress for many years at the Thompson Spa, Schraffts and Peroni’s all in Boston. It was while working at Peroni’s in Boston that Catherine waited on her most famous customer – Senator John F. Kennedy. Catherine and her husband Joe settled in Burlington in 1956. After her daughters where in School she went back to work once again working at Peroni’s and then working at Lectronics and Service Merchandise both in Burlington. Catherine enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and was an avid reader. Catherine was an active and independent woman and continued to live at her home in Burlington until she was close to 91 years old. She then went to live with her daughter Linda in Chelmsford for the past year. Her family was the most important part of her life. Catherine was a loving wife, proud and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Catherine was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. She was the loving mother of Catherine M. Verville & her husband George of Newfields, NH and Linda M. Martel & her husband Michael of Chelmsford. Sister of Mary Colella of Nashua, NH, Fred Agneta of Everett and the late Anthony Agneta. Grandmother of Lynne Ganley & her husband Leo of Exeter, Michael Martel & his wife Robin of PA and Rebecca Snow of PA. Great Grandmother of Molly, Leo & Abigail Ganley, Kevin & Catherine Snow and Evelyn Martel.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St,. BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) On Thursday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of followers memorials in Catherine’s name may be made to Children’s Hospital, 1 Autumn St., Boston, MA 02115.
