A beautiful Irish Poem for you Dad, given to me by a dear friend in honor of your passing:
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before only better, infinitely happier and forever we will all be one together with Christ.
Thank you and love you Dad,
Val

I will miss you Uncle Gerry. You always made us feel loved, made us laugh and always had a smile on your face. I'm so thankful to have played a few rounds with you. I remember when I had a very long drive, and you chuckled and said, "Gee Karen you hit like a man" . Denise, Chris and I just laughed and I said "well I guess that's a good thing Uncle Gerry. Rest in peace my sweet Uncle. I will miss you terribly. Love you forever.

This handsome man left this earth Friday evening with the evening sun on his face and his Gina by his side.
What a legacy he leaves behind.
He loved my Grammy, all of his seven children (and considered their SO’s his children too) 14 grands and 4 great grandchildren fiercely. He made a point to grab our faces, look into our eyes and tell us that he loved us whenever he saw us.
He was a friendly neighbor, a loyal brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to tell a joke that as Chuck reminded me, only he would think was funny, remark on nature, and was a gifted athlete and outdoorsman. He was incredibly meticulous and talented beyond belief. His wood carved creations were next level. A favorite topic of conversation would be the number of deer we would see in Marshfield (or anywhere). As we spent time at his bedside this week my brother saw deer run past the window and we are sure that was a sign he was with us and comfortable.
We know he is teeing off at a beautiful golf course in the sky this morning.
Bre and I called you Grampy but when the silver bullet came along someone changed your name to Papa. We aren’t mad about it. You were Our Papa.
Thank you for teaching us the value of family and how to unabashedly love and support one another through all of life’s ups and downs.
I will personally always hold dear our memories of camping at White Lake and skiing over the years. What form this guy had on the hill! Parallel French fry goals.
We can see your face still in ours: especially Jake’s and Brianne’s and Cameron’s. I’ll make sure these kids stay in line and cut the grass. Your lawn looks great. Ryan put the flag at half mast and Grammy has everyone around her. Rest Easy Now.
