My favorite memory of Doug was seeing him and his brother Donnie at a Texas A&M football game. Two guys with their thick Boston accents at an Aggie game. Who would have guessed! Gig 'em.

Doug Ganley was a good bowler, and a good man. He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors... and bowling, and as a surfer he explored the beaches of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo. He died, like so many young men of his generation, he died before his time. In your wisdom, Lord, you took him, as you took so many bright flowering young men at Khe Sanh, at Langdok, at Hill 364. These young men gave their lives. And so would Doug. Doug, who loved bowling. And so, Theodore Douglas Ganley Karabotsos, in accordance with what we think your dying wishes might well have been, we commit your final mortal remains to the bosom of the Pacific Ocean, which you loved so well. Good night, sweet prince. Will miss you and will try and keep the laughs going. You were a good boss and friend and it was a pleasure to have experienced and share some of our time together. -Kris

so sorry to hear about Doug's passing. We worked together in the 90s, and we always shared laughs over movies and comedies. I always loved Doug's wit and humor, and his compassion for others.

Doug always wore a pink shirt at the post office in North Reading, while the Fundraiser for Cancer was going on. He wore it well and happily! He was an unbelievably great person. I talked with him for over 4 years every day while I dropped my packages off for my business in the post office, he was always happy and never ever in a bad mood. He helped me with numerous difficult shipping situations with my business. I want to say "no!" it's not so. I will put his memory card in his desk area at the post office so I can still see him every day..I am so sorry for your loss..

I am so sorry to hear about Doug's passing. I worked with Doug at the Post Office and would always enjoy trying to answer some of his trivia questions or just talking to him about his latest traveling adventure. Doug was a great guy who made coming to work fun and enjoyable. To the Ganley family, I am very sorry for your loss, Doug was always telling stories of you guys and was always proud of the relationship he had with you guys. His passing has left a big hole in everyone's heart and I know he is missed by many people in the North Reading Community

Kim, like my sister from the time we opened our eyes to the world, my heart is so broken for you, Kenny, Donny, Pam and Mr. And Mrs. Ganley. Doug has touched so many people in so many ways. He surely left his mark. Being around Doug at many family gatherings at Kim and Kenny’s was full of laughs. Doug’s Witt and laughter was infectious. Doug also made such an impact on those of the North Reading community. Working at the post office, he even made that a nice experience for those coming in for their quick mailings. The responses of the community are so heartfelt. Doug was so social, pleasant and so personable to all the customers. Even those that knew him just on this level, have a special spot that he will be missed. I personally can say I liked going to the Poat Office, which I did a lot for my personal and business dealings. So I was there often. I liked getting an update on my best friend, Kim and Kenny if I hadn’t talked to her in a few days. Doug knew everything! He knew how Ally did in her gymnastics meets to the day Becca got her license, to how Joe hands down cranked at his wrestling meets. Doug didn’t miss a beat on his family happenings, including his nieces and nephews and it showed how invested he was as a family guy. Funny, even to the point if he told me something about Kim and Kenny that I didn’t know yet..I would be like “hey, that is my best friend she didn’t my tell me yet”...and that is because Doug was always there for family and was so invested. We would always laugh at that. Kim and the entire Ganley family, I am truly sorry for this tragic loss of a wonderful guy. Take these moments and memories and hold them close to your heart. May the love and support of family and friends numb the heartache and pain to get you through each day. My love and support goes out to all of you with a very heavy heart. ❤️ Kristie

I am so sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I worked with Doug at Epsilon for many years, and I have such fond memories of playing on the company softball team with him, seeing him in the hallways at work, etc. Later, I would see him often at the North Reading Post Office because I lived in town. Every time I went in to the post office, he would take the time to have a nice conversation with me and catch up. He was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. I am devastated, and my heart goes out to all of his family and friends. I know that we all will miss him very much.

I coached Doug when he was a conscientious player for youth soccer. He expressed great skill and persistence when he played with all he had. His teammates enjoyed playing with Doug, and I thought he was a terrific kid to coach. I sensed he would go far in life and he did. His passing is tragic and so sorry this happened. My family who also admired Doug sends our deepest condolences to his family.

To Doug's family, I am so deeply sorry to hear we've lost Doug. When I was a sophomore at Dartmouth, Doug was a senior. Several of us got in the habit of getting our dinner to go and joining Doug, who was often watching 90210 or making prank calls to a local radio station, while wearing a Mets batting helmet. Doug would hold court. He was absolutely hilarious, but his humor was never at anyone's expense. At other times, he would share really smart opinions about any number of topics; he was an encyclopedia of information. Most importantly Doug was very kind. For several of us who were sophomores, he was like a big brother, often referring to us as "Champ." I will miss Doug-- and his Facebook posts. My favorite of all time was when he posted on Mothers Day, "Happy birthday to all the mothers out there!"

When I think of Doug, I will remember just being stimulated and entertained by his conversations. I will remember all of the laughter, especially the travels to Donny's NFL draft parties with Doug and Kenny. Some of my favorite times. Doug would always reach out to me on my birthday. He attended my grandmother's wake. Such a trremendous heart he had. He was always appropriate and in my eyes, always had life by the balls. I will miss him so much. My hopes are that his family and friends find peace and remember all of the good times and all of the goodness he brought to the table whenever he entered the room. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and Julie. May God take good care of them and welcome Doug in his kingdom.

I knew Doug from the NR post office. I am so sad by his not being with us anymore. I heard the stories - family, vacations, talked stocks. The Man was smart, kind, smiling all the time. I am lost here. I know how tight the Ganley family was and that there was always a family event going on. Heard about Julie and the great vacations. I will not ever forget about Doug and I know that there is so much pain now to all of you I only wish I wasn't writing this. Mr and Mrs. Ganley your boy was the best.

Doug was one of those rare, special people who made everyone’s day a whole lot better. I so enjoyed chatting with him at the post office, and whenever there was a line, I would do everything possible to end up at his station. My heart breaks for his family. Such a kind man.
