Obituary of Helena V Cote

Helena V. Cote, affectionately known as “Sissy”, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on Sunday morning, November 17, 2019. She was 86 years old.

Sissy was born in Boston. She was raised and educated in Somerville.   Sissy raised her four children in North Cambridge.  She worked hard to provide for her children.  Sissy went back to school and took some business courses and eventually got a job as an Executive Assistant at Harvard University, where she worked for over 20 years. She loved her job and the interaction she had with the students and the professors.

Sissy was an outgoing woman who had a nice group of friends that she enjoyed socializing with. She enjoyed a playing bingo, going shopping and watching her soap operas on television daily! She loved playing cards and board games with her grandkids and great grandkids.  She had a close relationship with her grandchildren Tina, Jeremy and Sherry and played an important role in their lives.    Sissy always looked forward to the holidays with Christmas being her favorite.   Sissy will be remembered for her outgoing and friendly personality who had great love for her family.

Sissy was the beloved wife of late Edward Cote, mother of Donna Breen & her husband Shawn of Andover, John Delgado of Belmont, Cheryl Cote of Somerville and Mark Cote of Medford.  Proud grandmother of Christina Day of Burlington, Jeremy Breen of Andover and Shery Cote of Somerville.  Great grandmother of Devonte, Phillip & Brianna.   A Family Memorial Mass will be held at St. Malachy Church,  Burlington on Friday, Nov. 22. at 10 a.m.
