Obituary of Ronnie Danielson

John R. “Ronnie” Danielson, a custodian for the Burlington Schools for over 30 years passed away peacefully and on his own terms on Wednesday night, November 14, 2012 at the Hope Health Hospice Facility in Bonita Springs, Florida. He was 68 years old. Ronnie was born in Woburn and raised and educated in Burlington. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era and Cuban Missile Crisis and after 3 years transferred to the Army Reserves, from which he retired from with over 20 years of service to his country. Ronnie was a familiar face in the Burlington School System working for over 30 years with the Town. Ronnie’s warm and jovial demeanor made him extremely well-liked by the faculty, administration and the students. During the Blizzard of 1978, he assisted in organizing and operating an emergency shelter at the Burlington High School. He was a member of the Local 1703 AFSCME Union and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Burlington Municipal Employee Federal Credit Union. It was very hard not to like Ronnie. At his retirement party, which was extremely well attended, all the guests were dressed in Ronnie’s favorite attire, flannel shirts. He spent the last 3 years in Bonita Springs, Florida fishing, shelling, enjoying the warm weather, and spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his family and friends with countless memories filled with laughter, concern, and love. Ronnie was the loving father of Ann Crockett of Wakefield, Laura Scott of Dracut, Lynda Hill & her husband Craig of Woburn, Janette Danielson of Tewksbury, and Leslie Danielson of Woburn. Grandfather of TJ, Autumn, Desiree, Anthony, Zach, Brianna, Alex, Nicole, Emaliegh, & Jacob. Son of the late J. Herbert and Olga Danielson. Brother of Richard & his wife Carol of Billerica. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Wakefield, 8 Lafayette Street, Wakefield, on Saturday, December 1st at 11 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ronnie’s name may be made to the John “Ronnie” Danielson Scholarship Fund, c/o Burlington Municipal Employee Federal Credit Union, 7 Bedford Street, Burlington, MA 01803. Arrangements under the direction of the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, Burlington.
