Obituary of Doris Boudreau

Doris M. Boudreau, a retired Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Rath and Strong Consulting, passed away at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge after an extended illness. She was 80 years old. Doris was born at her family’s home in Cambridge. Her parents were immigrants from Newfoundland, Canada. She grew up in Cambridge and was a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin. She learned from her mother the importance of family, hard work, and moral integrity. These values were the root of her being and how she lived her entire life. She was an exceptional student and was offered a full scholarship to Radcliffe College but due to personal circumstances was unable to attend. She would later attend Chandler School for Women and Northeastern University. Doris was always there for her family, friends, and neighbors. She and her family opened their home to others when they needed assistance. She was always there to lend a helping hand, offer some advice, or care for someone who was ill. Doris’s primary focus was caring for her family and this was her greatest source of fulfillment. She was a loving wife to her husband Bill for 58 years. Always a supportive and encouraging mother to her 6 children, she taught them to be creative thinkers, care about others, and be strong individuals. Doris spent several of her younger years as a competitive pairs roller dancer and along with her husband, Bill, fostered an athletic and competitive spirit in her children. At the time of the birth of her first child, Doris happily gave up her career in publishing to be a full-time mother. It wasn't until 20 years later, when the youngest of her six children was a toddler, that she started back to work part-time. Doris started at Rath and Strong Consulting as a 5 week temporary employee. They quickly realized Doris’s talents and ability, and when she retired 20 years later, she was a Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and a member of their Board of Directors. Doris was great with numbers and always seemed to have a vision -- she helped countless companies come up with successful business plans and models. At home, Doris enjoyed working in her garden, doing crossword puzzles and simply enjoying having her children and grandchildren around. She had made her home in Burlington for the past 51 years, and had many good friends in her neighborhood and beyond. She was an avid reader and a member of Mensa. Doris lived her life to the fullest, always placing others first, and will be always remembered by all those she touched in her lifetime. Doris was the beloved wife of William G. Boudreau, Jr. She was the loving mother of Denise Scutellaro & her husband Louis of North Andover, Susan (Jorgenson) Keller & her husband Jon of Woodside, CA, William G. Boudreau, III & his wife Kelly of Burlington, Kenneth Boudreau & his wife Cynthia of Hancock, MA, Scott Boudreau of Bedford & his girlfriend Patty Coward of Tewksbury, and Dr. Amy Boudreau of Van Nuys, CA. She was the sister of Ruth Horton & her husband Howard of North Falmouth and Donald Benson & his wife Patricia of Westport, CT. She was the proud grandmother of Nicolas Scutellaro, Ethan Jorgenson, Alexandra, Marcel, Danielle, Jonathan & Ben Boudreau, and Ward William Weyrauch. Funeral from the Edward V.
