Obituary of Mary Francis Conti

Mary Francis (Ciccolo) a woman devoted to her family and her faith, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Tuesday morning, February 4, 2020. The beloved wife of John G. Conti, Mary had just celebrated her 85th birthday. Mary was born in Boston. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Rose Ciccolo. She was raised and educated in Hyde Park. While in high school she met her future husband, John. They were high school sweethearts. They married on October 20, 1957 and built a lifetime of memories together. Mary and John weren’t just husband and wife they were best friends, soul mates, kindred spirts, and partners. If you saw one of them the other wasn’t far behind! Mary worked as a Statistician Clerk for the Medical Information Bureau (MIB) in Westford for over 40 years. After her retirement she worked at the Fanny Farmer Candy Shop at the Burlington Mall until it closed its doors. Mary and John raised their four children in Hyde Park. When their children where young they took day trips to New Hampshire and other New England destinations. In later years they enjoyed taking trips to Spain, England, Jamaica, Vermont and even a trip to Disney World to see their granddaughter’s band march in the Disney Parade! Mary’s heart was always at her home. Her family was the center of her life. In 1991 Mary and John made the big move from Hyde Park to Burlington to be closer to three of their four children. She immediately became involved in the community; through church and the senior center. Mary loved a good card game and played with her close circle of friends at the Senior Center and in later years at the American Legion. She also enjoyed her monthly trips to Foxwoods. She was an avid Boston sports fan, baseball and football were her favorite sports. Mary even watched the Super Bowl this past Sunday with her family while at the Lahey Clinic. Mary was a woman of faith and was a longtime member of St. Malachy’s church where she attended the 4:00 Mass every Saturday with her husband John. She prayed the rosary daily and said her intentions to St. Anthony for her children and grandchildren every evening. Mary was a feisty woman and always told you what was on her mind. She had an outgoing personality and loved to interact with people. Mary will be remembered as a selfless person who always put the needs of others before herself. Mary was the beloved wife of 62 years of John G. Loving mother of John & his late wife Ally of Walpole, Nancy Conti-DeCarlucci & her husband Matthew DeCarlucci, Rosemarie Conti & her husband Ronald and Paul & his wife Deborah all of Burlington. Proud grandmother of Raphy DeCarlucci, Gina, Joey, Alexander, Jack, Niko & Paul J. Conti. Sister of John Ciccolo & his wife Debra of Salem, James Ciccolo & his wife Mina of Roslindale and the late Leo Ciccolo. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
