Obituary of Dominica Mary Ceurvels

Dominica Mary (DeDominicis) Ceurvels passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center on Friday morning, February 14, 2020. The beloved wife of the late Robert M. Ceurvels, she was 97 years old. Dominica (Dottie) was born in Boston. Her dad, Domenic, passed away one month prior to her birth. Her mom, Ascenza, was left to raise six children on her own. The family moved around a bit and eventually settled in Somerville. They were a close and strong family that were always there for each other. Dottie would meet her future husband, Robert (Bob), while they were both working at Nabisco’s. They married in 1948 and lived in Somerville. In 1959 the family moved out of the city of Somerville to Burlington. Dottie worked hard to provide a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She was a homebody, and being of Italian heritage, was a great cook. She especially loved to hold holidays at her home, everyone was welcome. Not only did Dottie run a loving household, she worked at RCA in Burlington for over 20 years. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Malachy’s Church. Dottie was very involved in the church and was a member of the Morgairs as well as a Eucharistic Minister. While her children were young the family would vacation at their cottage on “Lost Lake” in Groton. Dottie, Bob and the children would spend the entire summer at the lake which was also a vacation spot for many of their cousins. During their retirement years Dottie and Bob would spend their summers at their home in Kennebunk, Maine. Often, their children and grandchildren would spend time there with them. Dottie’s greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were an important part of her life and visited her on a regular basis. Dottie lived a long, beautiful life, always surrounded by family and many friends. Dominica was the beloved wife of late Robert M.
