Obituary of Joan Wheeler

Joan Ignico Wheeler passed peacefully, surrounded by loving family on March 10, 2020. 

 She was born to the late Vincent and Helene Ignico on April 21, 1930.  She grew up in Lexington where she met her devoted husband Harold Wheeler, deceased.  Together they lived in Burlington for 65 years, raising their family. She was a caring wife and mother. Her happiest days were spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she adored. Joan has been a resident of Aborjona Nursing home in Winchester MA for the past 4 years where she made wonderful friends.

Joan & Harry enjoyed spending many summers at Hampton Beach, winters in Florida, with many trips to Mexico and the Caribbean islands.

Surviving family are her children, Lynda Anderson and husband Christopher of Burlington MA, David Wheeler and late wife Maryellen of Hutchinson Island Fl., Joia McDonald and husband Edmund of Nashua NH, and Beth Wheeler of Tyngsboro MA. Her Grandchildren Christopher Anderson and wife Christine of Pembroke Pines FL,, Matthew Anderson of Burlington Ma, Justin Anderson and Jocelyn Chan of Wilmington Ma., David Wheeler and wife Warija of North Potomac MD.,  Duane Wheeler of Claymont DE, Shawn Wheeler and wife Kirsten of Claymont DE., Erynn Holmes and husband Michael of Tyngsboro MA, Ryan Weadick of Billerica MA. She is also survived by her 5 great grandchildren Caleb, Nathan, Hunter, Xavier, and Mackenzie.  She was sister of Mary Wheeler (deceased), Helene Wright, Holly Moreau, and Vincent Ignico Jr. (deceased)

Remembrances in Joan’s name may be made to Aborjona Nursing Facility, 184 Swanson Street, Winchester MA.  01890. Services will be private.

Joan will be missed by all.
