Rosemarie Ingeme

Obituary of Rosemarie Ingeme

Rosemarie Ingeme, a woman devoted to her family and wonderful caregiver, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, March 14, 2020.  She was 76 years old.  Rosemarie was born in Boston.  She was the only daughter born to Felicio and Edith Caruso.  She grew up in East Boston and Somerville.  She was a graduate of Somerville High School.  She raised her family in Burlington and had spent the last 11 years living in Reading.  She worked along her husband, John, at Ingeme Personal Services as they operated a wheelchair van service.  She then worked at the Lahey Clinic for over 20 years.  She started in Transport department. She then transferred to Radiology department and retired from the Medical Records department.

What defined Rosemarie was her compassion, kindness, and devotion to her family, especially her daughter Rosemarie who was disabled.  Rosemarie and her late husband, John, lives were spent caring for and brightening the life of their daughter.   They made sure she remained home, was well cared for, and most importantly smothered with love.    They also established the Rosemarie E. Ingeme Foundation which gave assistance to anyone who was in need.  They ran dinner dances at the Billerica Elks, held raffles, and solicited sponsors to raise the funds for the foundation. There have been countless individuals and families who have benefited from their charitable work.  Some might describe her care for her daughter a sacrifice.  But for Rosemarie, it gave her a clearer view of life, a more purpose view, and she cherished the little moments and the triumph in the milestones.  She was just like every other mother whose creed is that of giving of oneself to your children.  That is what gave her life meaning and purpose.  It kept all her family close and focused on supporting each other.  For which, she considered herself blessed.

Rosemarie was the beloved wife of the late John Ingeme who passed away in August of 2019.  She was the proud mother of Anthony “Tony” Ingeme and his wife Janice of Burlington, Andrew Ingeme of Burlington, Rosemarie Ingeme of Bedford, and John Robert Ingeme, Jr. & his wife Cynthia of Manchester, NH.  She was the sister of Salvatore Caruso of Santa Rose, CA.  She was the proud grandmother of Laura, Anna, and Lucy Ingeme.  At the family’s request, funeral services will be private. Memorials in Rosemarie’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or www.stjude.org.
