Obituary of Daniel Guerino

Daniel P. Guerino, Jr. a lifelong resident of Burlington, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Tuesday morning, Sept. 27, 2011. The beloved husband of Pauline F. (Stimpson) he was 63 years old. Dan was born in Cambridge. He was the son of the late Daniel and Dorothy Guerino. Dan was raised and educated in Burlington and was a graduate of Burlington High School. After graduation from High School he enlisted in the Army and served 2 years during the Vietnam War. He returned home and eventually settled into being a manager at the American Legion in Burlington. He really loved his job, the members, and the guests who visited the club. At the time of his passing, he was returning home from work. He also served as the Commander of the Legion in 1981. Dan had many interests and activities. He believed “that if you were going to do something, do it well.” Dan was a fantastic pool player, a great golfer, and intense card player, and above average bowler. He loved horseshoes, but had yet to master the game. He had a keen mind and was always doing crosswords, jumbles, and anagrams. He loved to travel and was willing to go anywhere to experience a new culture or history. He was a diehard Boston Sports Fan and a faithful supporter of the Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics, and the Patriots. He was a good friend to many and always made time to spend with his friends. But what made Dan the happiest was being around his family. The perfect day off for him was spent around the pool with his kids and grandchildren just enjoying the time with each other. He was a devoted husband, a caring and understanding father, and a fun grandfather. He will remembered for his many friendships, warmth, and the love he had for his family. Dan was the beloved husband of Pauline (Stimpson) Guerino. He was the adored son of the late Daniel and Dorothy Guerino. He was the beloved father of Kerri Cribbie & her husband Mark of Wakefield, Cheryl Verduga & her husband Anthony of Lowell. He was the loving step-father to Mindy Simard & her husband Henry of Billerica and Brian Marchildon & his wife Paula of Phenix City, AL. He was predeceased by his sister; Frances D. Bold. He was the cherished brother-in-law of Daniel & Arlene Fitch of Billerica. He was the adored Grandfather John & Erica Verduga, Dillon, Kenny, Brianna & Brian Cribbie, Christian & Abigail Marchildon. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Sept. 30 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., BURLINGTON at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 3-8 p.m. Interment Private.
