Angela (Scenna) Francescucci, matriarch of her family, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, May 16, 2020. She was 91 years old. Angela born and raised in the small Italian village of Orsogna in the Abruzzo region of Italy. She was one of four daughters born to Domenico and Carmina (Iocco) Scenna.
She lived her life with a quiet elegance. Always gracious a host, she loved entertaining, sewing, gardening, and vacationing with her family. But her favorite hobby was telling her children “what to do” no matter how old they were. It was those strong “Italian” values, traditions, and standards that guided her life. It was simple, “La Famiglia e Tutto” or “The Family is Everything”.
She worked at LaCasia’s Bakery for over 25 years. She loved the LaCasia family as her own. It was the perfect blend of work and fun, where she shared her love of food and a great sense of humor. Angela lived a wonderful life. She was independent, healthy, and sharp till the end. Angela and her late husband Nicola had a wonderful marriage of 65 years. They lived in Italy, Argentina, the North End of Boston and finally settling in Burlington. Having had three children in three different continents brought an appreciation of different cultures.
Angela greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She was very proud of her their accomplishments. She loved them unconditionally. She had a special bond with each of her grandchildren imparting her life lessons and wisdom. Angela was a “special treasure” and will be greatly missed by all.
Angela was the beloved daughter of Domenico and Carmina (Iocco) Scenna. The devoted wife of the late Nicola “Nick” Francescucci. She was the loving mother of Maria O’Connor & her husband Joseph of Burlington, Lillian Francescucci DiMaria of Medford, and Nicholas Francescucci & his wife Terri of Burlington. She was the proud grandmother of Joseph O’Connor, Christina O’Connor, Frankie DiMaria, Natalie DiMaria, Angelica Francescucci, and Nicholas Francescucci and Great grandmother of Ryan O’Connor. Sister of the late Maria Domenica Cipollone, Mary Mastrocola, and Anna Scenna. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
