Obituary of Carol Catanzano

Carol A. (Goldonowicz) Catanzano, a dedicated, retired nurse passed away on Friday morning, June 5, 2020.  She was 72 years old.  Carol was born in Fall River, Massachusetts and was the oldest of 3 children and the only daughter of John and Emily (Holik) Goldonowicz.  She grew up in Taunton and was a graduate of Coyle Cassidy High School.  At a very early age she knew she wanted to dedicate her life to helping others.   She was a nurse for 40 years, ensuring her patients had respect and dignity throughout their most difficult times.  She loved her career and found deep value in being a helpful support to her patients and their families.   She also created strong friendships with her coworkers that she maintained even after retirement.

Carol always placed her family first, made sacrifices, and cared for their wellbeing.  She was involved in her daughters’ lives by being a Girl Scout leader for many years.  She attended all the band concerts, plays, and sporting events that her daughters, and grandchildren, participated in.  After her father passed, Carol was at her mother’s side helping her remain at home and live independently for as long as possible.  She was a loving and supportive wife to her husband, Joe.  They kept their spark alive by always having a weekly date so they could enjoy their time just between the two of them.   During the summers, they vacationed in Cape Cod and Ogunquit, Maine.  The long walks shared together on Marginal Way were especially memorable.  She cared for her grandchildren so that their parents could work.  She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and for Burlington’s People Helping People’s Food Pantry.   She will forever be remembered and treasured by those she touch and loved.

Carol was the beloved wife of 49 years of Joseph Catanzano of Burlington. She was the loving mother of Susan McCabe & her husband Jon of Foxborough and Kristen Catanzano of Burlington.  She was the sister of the late Michael Goldonowicz & his surviving wife Jan Goldonowicz of Brandon, Florida and John Goldonowicz of Cranston, Rhode Island. Proud grandmother of Joseph and Amanda McCabe.  Aunt of Jessica DeSalvo and Joanna Goldonowicz.  At this time funeral services will be private.  Memorials in Carol’s name may be made to The Michael J.
