Obituary of Vincenza Cicerone

Vincenza (Gentile) Cicerone, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln.  She was 96 years old.

Vincenza was one of five children born in Prezza, Italy to the late Antonio and Maria Gentile. Prezza was a small and quaint town that had beautiful mountains and scenic lakes.  There were not many ways to make a living in Prezza, as most families worked in the local factories or family farms. It was in 1967 that Vincenza, her husband Nicola and their three children made their move to America to make a better life for themselves.   They settled in the North End of Boston where many other Italian immigrants had also made their way.  They loved living in the North End, it was a close-knit community and it was there she made lifelong friendships and she remained there for her entire life.

She worked hard to make a loving home for her family and like most Italian woman, she was a wonderful cook and she loved doing it, especially making her famous cookies during the holiday.  Vincenza found work as a seamstress, which she did for many years and she also made clothes for herself and her family, her sewing machine got lots of use.

Family meant everything to her, and she was her happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Vincenza was the devoted wife of the late Nicola Cicerone.  Loving mother of Lina Gentile & her husband George of Woburn, Gina Spadorcia & her husband Tony of Weymouth, and Mauro Cicerone her son who predeceased her in April of this year.    She was a doting grandmother of 8 grandchildren Laura, Mark, Brian, Nick, Christina, Nando, Nadia and Tony.  She also had 9 GREAT grandchildren Mark Jr., Dante, Steven, Matteo, Nicholas, Bianca, Natalia, Ava, and Madelyn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for both Vincenza & her son Mauro at St. Charles Church, 280 Main St., Woburn on Thursday, June 18 at 11:30 a.m.  A visitation will be held at St. Charles, prior to the Funeral Mass, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  Burial will be held in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.   For directions see www.sccwoburn.org
