Obituary of Patricia M Scott
Patricia M. (O’Neill) Scott, of Burlington, formerly of Somerville and Florida passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. She was 74 years old. Pat was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Collum) O’Neill. Pat was raised in Somerville and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Cambridge. She met her husband Robert, on a blind date, while he was stationed in Charlestown while in the Navy. They would date for two years and marry on August 14, 1965. They raised their children in Somerville and Margate, Florida.
Pat worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk for Armatron in Malden for over 15 years. She loved to go shopping and was always looking for a bargain. When her children were young, as a family, they enjoyed camping at Salisbury Beach. In later years Pat and Robert enjoyed taking trips to Florida and Georgia. Pat loved the ocean and loved visiting York Beach. Pat had an outgoing personality and loved talking to everyone. She was so happy to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought her so much joy. Family time and holidays were very important to her. She had a close relationship with her sisters and enjoyed her frequent “sista weekends” to York Beach and New York. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at Birchcrest housing where she lived. She was loved by so many and always quickly made friends wherever she went. She touched many lives.
Pat was the beloved wife of Robert J. Scott. Loving mother of Donna Marie Clegg of Plaistow, NH, Amy Levine & her wife June of Plaistow, NH and Robert C. Scott of GA. Proud grandmother of Abbi Zarkowsky, Kayla Clegg, Katrien Clegg and Alexis Levine and step grandsons Tyler Polanco and Collin DeMarco. Great grandmother of Colton and Harper Zarkowsky Sister of Arthur O’Neill and his wife Joan of Swampscott, Walter “Butch” O’Neill and his wife Marlene of Wilmington, Theresa Janetatos and her husband John of Brooklyn NY, Barbara Mattos and her husband Steve of Burlington and the late Peggie Conroy and her husband Peter and the late Jean O’Neill Malone and her husband Jack. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she was also close to.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Margaret’s Church on Friday, July 31 at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. For obituary, memorial video & online guestbook see www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
