Obituary of Igor A Shub

Igor A. Shub, a successful liquor store owner passed away after a very short battle with cancer early on Monday morning, August 24, 2020.  He was 56 years old.  Igor was born in Minsk, Belarus where he grew up and was educated.   At the age of 17, his family immigrated to the United States in search of a better life.  They started their new life in Danbury, Connecticut.  After several years, they moved to Massachusetts living in Tewksbury and Woburn.  Igor had high aspirations and goals and wanted to achieve the “American Dream” of having his own business and being financially independent.  He was not afraid of hard work, long workdays, and putting his heart and soul into his business for the past 15 years.  He always made sure his mother was well taken care of and was a supportive big brother to his sister. Outside of work, Igor was a special uncle to his 3 nieces.  He was a car enthusiast and always wanted the newest car models with all the new technology and gadgets.

Igor was the beloved son of Marina Shub of Woburn and the late Arkady Shub. He was the brother of Helen Donovan of Andover. He was the proud uncle of Rachel, Hannah, and Olivia Donovan all of Andover.  Graveside services will be held on Sunday August 30 at 11 a.m. at the Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Lakeside Ave. off of North St., Wakefield.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.  Memorials in Igor’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or www.cancer.org.  Arrangements by the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, Burlington. For obituary and online guestbook see www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
