Obituary of Margaret Staffopoulos
Margaret L. (Schnurr) Staffopoulos passed away at the Brighten at Medford Nursing Facility in Medford on Friday morning, October 27, 2006. The wife of the late William P. Staffopoulos, she was 87 years old.
Margaret was born and raised in Pawtucket, RI. She was the daughter of German immigrants the late Herman and Louisa Schnurr. She was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Nursing. Margaret worked as an R. N. at the Rhode Island Hospital until her children where born. She then dedicated her life to creating a loving home for her husband and children. Margaret was a sports fan. She enjoyed following the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She was happy to see the Red Sox finally win a World Series. Margaret was a people person that enjoyed having a good conversation with her friends and family on the current events of the world. Margaret was a loving and caring woman who was blessed to have a wonderful life that spanned 87 years. She will be deeply missed.
Margaret is the beloved wife late William P. She is the loving mother of Patricia Martellucci of Burlington, William P. Staffopoulos of Belgium and his wife the late Mieke Mertens. She is the sister of the late Norma Schnurr and Hermina Collins. She is the grandmother of Stephen A. Martellucci, Scott P. Martellucci both of Burlington, Michael W. Staffopoulos, and Laura E. Staffopoulos both of Belgium. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, October 31 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
