Obituary of James E Phillips
James E. Phillips, passed away at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, following a brief illness, on Friday evening, November 13, 2020. The beloved husband of Linda (Boggs) he was 66 years old.
Jim was born in Medford. He was raised and educated in Arlington and a 1972 graduate of Arlington High School. He would meet his future wife Linda Boggs through mutual friends, they married in 1984 and moved to Burlington where they would raise their two children.
Jim had a long and successful career as a Plastics Engineer working for Gregstrom Corp in Woburn for over 30 years. Jim loved working for a family company such as Gregstrom and made many friendships throughout the years. Jim was an ardent Boston sports fan, following all of the teams, but the Celtics were his favorite. In his younger days, Jim was an avid runner and even ran the Boston Marathon several times.
Jim was a handy man and was always tackling projects around the house. Nothing brought him more pleasure than sitting in his yard, in one of the Adirondack chairs that he made, just enjoying the quiet serenity that surrounded him. As a family they enjoyed summer vacations in Kennebunkport, Maine. In 2017 the family had a memorable family vacation together in Ireland.
Jim and Linda were loving and supportive parents to their two children, Theresa and John. He was proud to see his son John join the Wenham police force and so happy to see his daughter Therese marry her husband Bill. He was always there for his children, never missing any of Theresa’s soccer games when she was growing up and teaching them life lessons that helped shape their lives.
Jim will be remembered as a quiet man, with a great sense of humor, and whose greatest joy was his family. Jim was the beloved husband of Linda (Boggs). He was the loving and proud father of Theresa Goulet & her husband William of Stoneham and John of Salem. Son of the late John & Dorothy Phillips.
