Mary Ann Annese, a resident of Burlington for 56 years, passed away on January 22, 2021 at the age of 81. She was born in Cambridge and grew up in Somerville. She met her husband, Jack on a blind date which resulted in a marriage of 46 happy years. They raised two daughters who always felt very loved.
Mary Ann enjoyed being with family, reading and spending time at the senior center with friends. She loved dragging 10 books at a time home from the library only to get 10 more the next week. Most errands took twice as long as she enjoyed socializing with everyone. She never took life too seriously, enjoying her sweets at all hours of the day or walking down a Christmas toy isle only to push every button in sight.
She loved her vacation home in Wells, Maine and enjoyed all of the years spent with family there although after 40 years, she only went into the water once.
Despite being unable to see friends and family in person due to the pandemic and then her illness, she kept in touch by phone talking for hours on end. She had endless stories to tell, both serious and silly and she never failed to leave a smile on your face. She loved her cats, Bandit and Bella who she spoiled which resulted in a strict diet for each of them, most of the time.
Mary Ann was taken away from us far too quickly although her family takes comfort in knowing she was at peace and looked forward to reuniting with her loved ones. Mary Ann’s memory will live in our hearts forever.
Mary Ann was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Annese, Jr. Loving mother of Jackie Moose & her husband Roy of Tewksbury and Kathy Romeo & her husband, Richard of Pelham, NH.
