Obituary of Janice Ann Faria

Janice Ann (McLennan) Faria passed away peacefully at the Lahey Clinic Hospital & Medical Center on Monday afternoon, February 15, 2021.  The beloved wife of 50 years to William Faria, she was 69 years old.

Janice was born in Lynn.  She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Frances McLennan.  Janice’s dad, Thomas, was in the Air Force and as a child her family lived in many different locations including England. When she was 10 years old her family settled in Woburn.  Janice was a 1969 graduate of Woburn High School.  Janice would meet Bill Faria and they would marry on March 27, 1971. They moved to Burlington in 1975 where they would raise their three sons.

Janice devoted her life to making a warm and loving home for her family.  She was always there for her sons and would do anything for them. As a family they enjoyed summer vacations at Manomet Beach near Cape Cod.   They also enjoyed taking destination trips to locations such as Aruba, Bermuda, Las Vegas, and Arizona.   During their retirement years Janice and Bill spent the month of February in Marco Island.

Janice was an avid reader; it was her passion.  It wouldn’t be unusual for Janice to be reading three books at the same time, and her piles of books stacked to the ceiling.  She was also a collector of Beanie Babies and various dolls. She made hand-made jewelry, hand-painted figurines, and collages of the family she loved.  Janice was a people person.  She had an outgoing personality and a friendly demeanor.  She would make friends wherever she went whether it was volunteering at her younger son Shane’s school or shopping at the supermarket. She was known for her hearty home-cooked meals as well as her beautiful cursive handwriting.  During the last few years Janice battled several health issues but remained resilient, often defying doctors’ expectations. Janice will be remembered as a loving wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family.

Janice was the beloved wife of William Faria.  She was the loving and proud mother of Michael & his wife Amy of Hubbardston, Adam of Burlington & Shane of Burlington.  Sister of Nancy Neira and her husband Carlos of Billerica and the late Thomas McLennan III and Kathleen Paglia. Aunt of Mark Neira of Methuen and Alison Higgins of Billerica.  Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128/95 Woburn side) on Monday, Feb. 22 from 5-7 p.m.  Funeral Services and Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Janice’s name may be made to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, National Processing Center, PO Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN 56007  www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org
