Tom, Jeff and Dan: I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom and my dearest friend for over 65 years. I'll surely miss our great chats and visits, especially our weekend getaways and new years celebrations. Have many wonderful memories of our family times at Wyman's Beach. I'll think of her often with great love and affection. RIP my birthday sister. Val

As we clean the house and find pictures we will load them. I really like this from her Freshman year.

Ruthie and I became friends in kindergarten and remained best friends from that early age. She was so brave as she weathered so much adversity as a youngster (losing her Dad at age 12 and her Mom at age 17).. My family embraced her and we all kept her close. After high school graduation (Gorham High School Gorham NH) Ruth and I headed to Boston for our next adventure. I was enrolled in Burdett College and Ruth joined the workforce (phone company). She was so funny and her work based stories reflected her humorous side. We lived at the Franklin Sq. House (a hotel for women), We shared so many adventures with several European trips. initially using the excuse to visit her sons (Tom and Kelly in Italy and Dan & Jeff in London).. It worked and we continued with more trips. Please know that I share your sorrow with your mother's passing, and that she holds such a special place in my heart..

Ruth was the most positive person I have had the privilege to know. She was intelligent and witty and had a good word for everyone. She was always more concerned about others than herself. Failing eyesight could not diminish her spirit or love of life. My hero.
