Obituary of Eric Hogaboom

Eric Ralph Hogaboom, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, MA on Saturday afternoon, October 28, 2006. He was 58 years old. Eric was born on Middletown, CT. He grew up in Cromwell and Middlefield, CT. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and immediately joined the Navy. He served during the Vietnam War in the Naval Intelligence. He had resided in Port Charlotte, FL for the past 7 years. Eric worked as a sales manager for Planned Furniture Promotions for 28 years. His company conducted sale promotions helping retailers on sales promotions and liquidation sales in the furniture industry. He traveled all over the United States and Canada and was one of the top managers at his company. He was also featured in Furniture Today Magazine for his achievements. He assisted many clients to achieve their financial goals and was well respected by his coworkers. Eric was a very dynamic person. He loved “Bling”. He was an avid collector of cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed displaying his collection at car shows. He was a NASCAR fan and loved boating. He also enjoyed golfing. He enjoyed his life and exuberant persona gravitated people to him. You couldn’t help liking him. He was a loving son, a well loved brother, and a best friend to many. He will be greatly missed. Eric is the beloved son of Jean (Tuthill) Cassella of Marlborough, CT and the late Ralph Hogaboom and his wife Eva Hogaboom of Mooers, NY. He is the loving brother of Gloria Quirk of Bristol, CT, Martha Zajechowski of Stafford Springs, CT, James Hogaboom of Port Charlotte, FL, Kevin Cassella of Rocky Hill, CT, John Cassella of S. Windsor, CT, Bamby Beam of Mooers, NY, Crystal Kilroy of Mooers, NY, Kimberly Hogaboom of Missouri, Roy Hogaboom of Manchester, NH, the late Brenda Cassella and Shirley Hogaboom. He is the fiancée of Peggy Goldman of Port Charlotte, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, MA, on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 2:30 p.m. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. There will also be services at the Roberson Funeral Home in Port Charlotte, Florida on Friday and Saturday.
