Obituary of Mary Mabardy

Mary Mabardy, 83, of Burlington MA, Passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 8th 2021.  Mary was born in Natick, MA on February 22, 1938 to Charles and Katherine (Deraney) Mabardy, Mary’s disabilities and life challenges did not allow her to attend public schools, so her parents worked tirelessly with home schooling in her early years and later sending her to private schools. Her parents were caregivers until their passing in the 1960’s, it was then given to her oldest brother Michael who loved and cared for her dearly & became her legal guardian until his passing in 1984.  Through the years Mary has lived in multiple group homes and communities within MA until she was reunited with Michael’s immediate family where legal guardianship was given to her sister-in-law Josephine who she fondly referred to as mom. From that point on, Mary was able to enjoy life with her loving family again, it was a joy she held very close to her heart. Family meant everything and our heart is full knowing that she was able to be close to everyone again for many years and even more so now she is reunited with her heavenly family.  Mary was predeceased by her parents Charles and Katherine (Deraney) Mabardy her oldest brother Michael, and middle brother Nicholas.   She is survived by her guardian Josephine (Mabardy) Volpe of Burlington, nephews Charles Mabardy of Kensington NH, Emile Mabardy of Burlington, David Mabardy and niece Michelle Ruggles of Orcutt CA.
