I was so sad to hear about Simon. He was a figure in our family's life ever since I can remember. He would come to play cards with my grandparents, stop and visit my mother and dad and after their passing, would come over to see me. We shall miss him but especially on Christmas Eve - it will never be the same again. He was quite a guy and I am so glad that our paths crossed - it was an honor to know him. My love, thoughts and prayers to Victor and his family.

Simon is a distant cousin from my father's small village in Sicily, and a very family oriented person that as I was growing up visited my parents and our family members when in need, and attended Christmas celebrations with us on a regular basis. I had heard that he was a hero in WW2 but never knew the details until now. He is obviously one of America's "Greatest Generation". He never boasted of his accomplishments during that terrible war. He is modest person who cared about his extended family. I'm glad to have known him and admired him as he always had a smile on his face. I extend our condolences to his immediate family from Simon's extended family.
