Obituary of Robert Svenson

Robert G. Svenson, an auto mechanic, passed away suddenly at the Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell on Sunday morning, October 2, 2011. He was 55 years old. Bob was born in Woburn and grew up in Burlington. He was a graduate of Burlington High School Class of 1974. He had made his home in Tewksbury for many years. Bob was a hardworking individual with heart of gold. He had worked as a mechanic in a number of dealerships for the past 30 years. At home, his family and friends always knew they could call or stop by if they ever had car problems. Bob would stop what he was doing, pop open the hood, and get to work, because that is what friends do. Bob was a great person to spend time with. He was a huge NASCAR fan and followed all the races. He also drove and was a member of several pit crews on the local Stock Racing Series. For fun, he would also participate in Demolition Derbies. He enjoyed spending Saturday nights bowling with friends. He enjoyed working on puzzles and cooking. He loved his family and friends. He especially enjoyed being a “Grampa” to his grandchild, Sienna Louise. He will be remembered for his wild sense of humor, kindness and having a “Heart of Gold” Bob was the beloved husband of husband of Lisa M. (Savoia). He was the loving father of Jillian Rhynd & her husband Eric of Biddeford, ME, and Keith of Tewksbury. He was the son of Barbara Svenson of Burlington and the late Carl. He was the brother of Linda Johnson of Burlington, Carl of Tewksbury, James of Bedford, Daniel of Nashua, NH, Thomas of Watertown, and Scott of Wilmington. He was the proud Grampa of Sienna Louise Rhynd. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Thursday, October 6 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St. 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
