Obituary of Kenneth T. Hinchey

Kenneth T. Hinchey, a resident of Burlington for 55 years, passed away at the Durgin Pines Nursing Care in Kittery, Maine on Thursday evening, February 7, 2013. The beloved husband of the late Ruth L. (Hamilton), he was 89 years old. Ken was born and raised in Lexington. He was the son of the late John and Catherine Hinchey. He was a graduate of Lexington High School. He went on to graduate from Wentworth Institute. Ken was a Veteran of World War II, proudly serving his country as a medic in the United States Army. Ken worked for the Massport Authority as an Electrician for over 37 years. He spent many of those years helping to maintain the Mystic Tobin Bridge. Ken enjoyed the “outdoors” whether it was playing a game of golf, fishing, gardening or working on a project in his yard. He was very involved and supportive of his four children’s’ sports and other activities. He was blessed to have been a part of his grandchildren’s’ lives and have seen the birth of his 2 great grandchildren. Ken was the beloved husband of the late Ruth L. (Hamilton). He was the loving father of Stephen & his wife Janet of Orange, CT, Barbara Carney & her husband John of Pepperell, Nancy Hinchey of York, ME, and Karen O’Rourke & her husband Robert of Alton, NH. He was the brother of the late John Hinchey and Catherine Tully. He was the proud grandfather of Kristine Ciccarelli, Amanda Carney, Bryan Carney, Jenna and Chelsea Hinchey and great grandfather of Nathan & Evan Ciccarelli. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at Noon. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment in St. Bernard Cemetery, Concord.
