Obituary of Virginia Barbara Megani

Virginia Barbara (Seaman) Megani, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, November 3, 2021.  She was 94 years old.  Virginia was one of 8 children born to Edward and Ellen Seaman.  Her dad was a New York police officer.  She grew up in Hollis, NY.

She met her future husband, Peter and got married on December 26, 1948.  They started their life together in Jackson Heights, NY and then moved to Whitestone, NY where they raised their family. In 1978 her husband was transferred to Nashua, NH.  He commuted back and forth from NY for 3 years before they finally decided to move to Nashua and then Bedford, NH to be closer to work.  Virginia had a vivacious personality and outgoing, so she quickly embraced her new community.  She joined the Bedford NH Italian Club and served as their secretary for several years.  She went to work part time at a doctor's office as well.  She loved to shop at her favorite store, Macy’s. She was there so often that the clerks knew her by her first name. She loved the sunshine and sitting by the pool in Palm Springs, CA.

She was a loving and supportive mother to her 3 children and a very proud grandmother.  Having her family spread across the country.  Virginia relished every visit and phone call she received.  The last few years had been difficult having two broken hips and having to use a wheelchair.  She is now at peace with her husband, parents, and siblings.

Virginia was the beloved wife of the late Peter Megani.  She was the loving mother of Paul Megani of Woburn, MA, Catherine Vanni and her husband Vincent of Fairfax Station, VA and Barbara McMahon and her husband Gerard of West Chester, PA.  Proud grandmother of Michael Vanni & his wife Summer, Lauren Kinard & her husband Jonathan, Megan George & her husband Tyler, Gerard McMahon & his wife Kristen, Brian McMahon & his wife Dani and Kerryann Booth & her husband Andrew. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.   A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home on Monday, November 8th from 7:45 a.m-8:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church 280 Main Street, Woburn, MA at 9 a.m.   Virginia will be buried in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery in Flushing, NY later in the day.
