Obituary of Betty Thomasian
Betty (Cooke) Thomasian, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, on Wednesday morning, Feb 13, 2013. The beloved wife of the late Harry Thomasian who passed away in January of 2012, she was 83 years old.
Betty was born in Monroe, NC. She was one of 11 children born to the late Robert & Mary (Helms) Cooke. Betty and Harry married in 1957 and settled in Burlington where they raised their four children. Betty devoted her life to raising her four children but did work for a period of time for the Burlington Municipal Employee Credit Union. She enjoyed cooking for her family and was the ultimate host when it came time for entertaining. She also enjoyed gardening and arts & crafts. Betty was a volunteer for many years for the American Red Cross. Betty and Harry enjoyed traveling together and had visited many destinations throughout the United States as well as overseas. After their retirement they moved to Melbourne Florida for 20 years until they eventually returned to Massachusetts to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Betty was the beloved wife of the late Harry Thomasian. She was the loving mother of Betsy White & her husband Fred of E. Walpole, Nancy Heffernan & her husband Heff of Peachtree Corners, GA, Harry Thomasian Jr. & his wife Carey of Cockeysville, MD, and Susan Minghella & her husband Stephen of Burlington. She was predeceased by 10 brothers and sisters including Joanne Harkey of Monroe, NC who visited her often. Betty was the proud grandmother of Thomas & Susan White, Elizabeth & Harry Thomasian III, and Eric & Brian Minghella.
Funeral Services will be private. Memorial donations in Betty’s name may be made to the VNA of Middlesex East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880. Arrangements under the direction of the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, Burlington.
