Helen M. Giangreco beloved wife of well-known Burlington doctor, Anthony Giangreco, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning, May 21, 2022.  She was 99 years old.  Helen was born on August 30th 1922 and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  She was a nurse at the Caledonian Hospital in Brooklyn New York.  It was there that she met her future husband, Dr. Anthony Giangreco.  They were married in 1945 and moved to Anthony’s home state of Massachusetts.

Helen loved to have fun, socialize, and travel.  Maybe her secret to living to 99 years was that she was always young at heart and never wanted to be called a senior citizen.  She loved to spend days going on adventures with her loved ones. She was also happy tending to vegetable and flower gardens or reading a good book.  She had a good sense of humor and often shared her thoughts and viewpoints with others.  She was blessed to have had good health up until recent years and be an important part in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Anthony Giangreco who passed in 1985.  She was the loving mother of Tony Giangreco & his late wife Teri of Ridgefield, WA, Linda Kellum & her husband Mick of Malden, the late Charles Giangreco and his surviving wife Suzanne of Burlington, and the late Maria Vanderleeuw & her surviving husband John of Barnegat, NJ.  She was the proud grandmother of Lisa, Anthony III,  Victoria, Stephanie, & Andrea Giangreco, John, Jessica, & Marc Kellum, Megan Vanderleeuw, Jack and his wife Liz Vanderleeuw.  She was the great grandmother of Havivah, Anthony IV, Solomon, and Schulamit Giangreco, Kacey Kellum, Ellie & Charlotte Vanderleeuw and Jessie, Cassidy, & Thomas Worley.

Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA on Tuesday, May 24 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral from the Sullivan Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 25 at 9 a.m.  Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Church in St. Veronica Parish, 111 Winn Street, Burlington, MA at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with a burial with her husband Anthony at the Belmont Cemetery in Belmont, MA.

Memorials, in Helen’s name, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
