Obituary of Carol Santry

Carol Santry, manager and salesperson at Keene Carpet in Burlington for over 30 years passed away suddenly on Friday June 17, 2022. She was 85 years old.  Carol was one of two daughters born to Catherine and William LeBlanc.  She grew up in Burlington and was a member of the Burlington High School Class of 1954.  She was planning to attend her 68th high school reunion next week.  She has resided in Billerica for the past 60 years, but still hold a special place in her heart for Burlington.  Carol had worked for over 30 years as the office manager of Colony Corporation which was a shade manufacturer.  She then worked for Keene Carpet in Burlington for over 30 years as the store manager and salesperson. She also owned her own company, We Do Windows, for 20 years selling shades, blinds, and shutters.  She was incredibly organized, knowledgeable about her products, had great taste, and loved working with the customers many of whom were like friends.  If Keene Carpet had not closed four years ago, she would still be working.

Carol was always in perpetual motion.  She worked until the age of 81.  She loved working around her home whether it was interior decorating, tending to her flower gardens and tomato plants, and maintaining her yard.  Carol loved animals.  She fed the birds every morning, loved dogs, and fed all the wild animals that found their way to her back yard.  She was a huge Patriots fan and was knowledgeable about others sports.  Her favorite shopping destination was Wilson Farms.  She was the perfect aunt to all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.  She was a second mom to many. Carol regularly stopped at her sister Jean’s home after work when she worked at Colony Corp.  She would buy her nieces and nephews exquisite dresses and suits for special occasions, and never missed an opportunity to be with them. She was independent to the end, making her own health care decisions, and giving orders from her hospital bed.  Carol had a wonderful life filled with a fantastic and loving  family, great friends, and wonderful and caring neighbors.

Carol was the beloved wife of the late Richard T. Santry. Sister of the late Jeanne Chesbrough her late husband Ted. Sister-in-law of the late Timothy & Florence Santry. Proud aunt of Janet Atkinson & Walter Olihovik, Glenn Chesbrough, Theodore & Christine Chesbrough, Cathy & Mark Cunniff, Jane & Rod Hollinger, Chip Valley, the late Eugene, Dawn, & William Chesbrough and late Joan Valley.  Also survived by many great and great great nieces and nephews, and many close friends and neighbors.
