Obituary of Lynda Leahy
Lynda Jean Leahy, passed away at her home in Natick on Wednesday afternoon, March 6, 2013 after a valiant struggle against cancer, she would have celebrated her 54 birthday on March 13.
Lynda was born in Natick. She was raised and educated in Southborough graduating from Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. After graduation Lynda served her country in the United States Air Force. Lynda raised her children mainly in Burlington. She was very involved in the Burlington Girl Scouts serving as a Scout Leader and was also in charge of the Girl Scout Cookie Drive. Along with her parents Lynda was a member of the Saint Malachy Parish Stained Glass Workshop. Lynda enjoyed arts & crafts, sewing and scrapbooking. She was currently working as a Clerk at Zimmer Medical Supply. Due to her determination, the support of her family and the loving care she received from her doctors, nurses and caregivers Lynda was able to live 7 more years than was expected. Lynda was blessed to see the birth of her five grandchildren who, along with her children, brought so much joy to her life.
Lynda was the beloved mother of Brad Mason & his wife Jen of Billerica, Erica Mason of PA, Laura Lourenco of Holliston and Sarah Lourenco of Douglas. She was the beloved daughter of Alan & Lee Norris of Burlington. Sister of Brian Leahy of FL, David Leahy of Dracut, Debra Haught of ILL, and Kelly Pivoney of MO. Also survived by 5 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, March 9 from 12:00 – 2:30 p.m. Funeral Services following at the Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lynda’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, c/o Cheryl Shafman, 10 Donald Rd., Burlington, MA 01803.
