Cheryl Ann George Mowry, formerly of Belmont, MA, passed away on August 3, 2022, at the age of 68, at her home in Burlington, MA after a long fought battle with cancer.

Cheryl leaves behind her husband of 19 years, Lou.  They were together for 24 years.  She also leaves behind her son, Jonathan, and her grandson, Dylan of Dracut MA. She was the dear sister of James C. George of Seabrook Beach, NH, and Peggy Pelrine and her husband Michael J. Pelrine Sr. of Belmont, MA. She was the caring aunt to her only nephew Michael J. Pelrine Jr, and his wife Michelle Lautenbach Pelrine. Cheryl was the great aunt to Michael J. Pelrine III. She is also survived by aunts and uncles in California, and cousins in Florida and Wilmington, MA

Cheryl graduated from Belmont High School in 1972. After graduating from high school, Cheryl went on to graduate from Burdett Junior College with an associate degree in business and also became an expert cosmetologist in 1974, after graduating from Mansfield Beauty Academy. Cheryl used these two skills to open her own salon, Crown of Glory Hair Salon in Watertown in 1983. Cheryl remained working in the industry for over 30 years. She also worked as a Home Health Aide for several years.

Cheryl was a devoted member of the Presbyterian Church of Burlington. Cheryl loved to sing in the choir and was a faithful participant in the women’s bible study. She loved her friends at Elm Brook Place and she was grateful for the support she received there. Cheryl always prayed for her friends & family and was never selfish. She always showed love and care for others and wished everyone a very healthy, peaceful, joyful day.

A private committal service will be held at Cheryl’s final place of rest, Pine Haven Cemetery, 84 Bedford Street, Burlington, MA 01803. Relatives and friends are inviterd to her memorial service held at The Presbyterian Church in Burlington, 335 Cambridge Street, Burlington, MA on Saturday August 20 at 11 a.m. .
