Obituary of Lisa Marie Hayes

Lisa Marie Hayes passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday morning, September 19, 2022.  She was 54 years old.

Lisa was born in New Brunswick City in New Jersey.  She was raised in Burlington and a 1985 graduate of Burlington High School.  After high school she worked as a Bank Teller at Somerset Bank in Burlington.  Lisa also drove a school bus for many years.

Lisa lived in Billerica where she raised her three sons.  In recent years she had moved to Melrose.    Lisa enjoyed listening to music with karaoke being one of her favorite things to do - one of her favorite bands being the a-cappella group, Pentatonix. .  Her greatest joy were her three sons and her grandson. She was helping to raise her grandson Mason whom she adored.   Lisa enjoyed family gatherings, lunches with her stepmom Kathleen and just keeping in touch with her family.   She loved the holidays, specifically Christmas.  She would decorate her house with Christmas carolers and other very memorable decorations passed down from her mother while listening to Christmas music.   She will be remembered as a beautiful, easy-going and soft-spoken woman.

Lisa was the beloved mother of Ryan Figenbaum of Melrose, Tyler Figenbaum of Fairfax VA and Jake Figenbaum of North Reading.   She was the daughter of the late Mary Ann (Gerber) Hayes and the late Robert M. Hayes & his wife Kathleen of North Reading.  Lisa was the sister of Robert Hayes & his wife Michelle of Burlington and Brian Hayes & his wife Judi of Melrose.  Lisa is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Former wife of Robert Figenbaum of North Reading.   A Visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Concluding with Funeral Services at 1 p.m.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Lisa’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.donate3.cancer.org
