Robert J. Koch, Jr. passed away suddenly as a result of a tragic kayaking accident on Monday, October 3, 2022. He was just 29 years old.
Rob was born in Winchester. He was raised in Burlington and a 2012 graduate of Shawsheen Technical Institute in Billerica. After high school he lived in Woburn and most recently North Chelmsford. Rob had a career as a technician and at the time of his passing Rob had been working for the Podgurski Corp. based out of Canton.
Summers for Rob were spent at his family’s home in Ogunquit, Maine. It was the perfect spot for creating special family memories and enjoying being near the ocean. Rob loved anything to do with being outdoors and had a bit of an adventurous side to his personality! During the winter there was snowmobiling and snowboarding. Spring and summer were spent on his ATV, fishing, white water rafting or riding his motorcycle to various destinations including Bikers Week in Laconia.
Rob had a quiet but funny personality. He was a low-key kind of man, but you always sensed his presence. He would do anything for anyone, but it was always under the radar never looking for recognition or praise. Rob had a close and loving relationship with his mom Jeanne. He was a loving and kind brother. His brother Steve was his best friend, and they shared all their fun “toys” as adults. They had many great adventures together.
Rob was the beloved son of Jeanne Koch of North Chelmsford and Robert J. Koch, Sr. of FL. He was the best friend and brother of Stephen of North Chelmsford. Grandson of Elaine Lavoie of ME. Rob is also survived by many loving cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
