Sadly, I just recently learned of Joe’s death. Joe and I dated and then lived together for many years. He was very kind to my daughter Amanda, even helped coach her softball team, and was a great dad to his son Jonathan who visited us often. After eight years together we broke up but stayed in touch and even stayed friends with him moving to Burlington and my daughter and I moving to Westford. We lost touch after I moved to South Carolina several years ago and it was so sad to run across this obituary. My sincere condolences to his family.

I cried when I saw Joe had passed away. I am so glad I last saw him in Oct when I drove him to Lahey and he still kidded me about my “lousy driving”! Conversations centered on his love for Jonathan, sports and the right and wrong way of playing to win, his growing up in JP and of course politics. He was good to me and my grandchildren who thought of him of being their “silly funny” Joe! They are saddened by his passing and told me they were saying prayers. I still have two of his recent voice mails and this comforts me to hear his voice. I will miss you terribly after all these years and my deepest sympathy to his family. Rest In Peace my funny wonderful friend.

I am so sad to hear of Joe's passing. He made every working day at Algonquin Gas Transmission fun and we got so much done too! Will never forget his love of the bowling league, tracking/sharing the stats each week of most improved, high single, high triple and always encouraging us to play well together.

I was sadden to hear of Joe’s passing. I will especially miss his sense of humor, his teasing and his insight on the ways of the world including all aspects of Baseball. Knowing how much Joe loved his son Jonathan it is comforting to know that they are now together. I normally would call Joe after the holidays and he would still give me advice about so many topics. I will miss Joe and all his exceptional advice on life. My condolences to Joe’s family.

Always ready with a smile, cartoon or joke to start the work day. Articles he thought you would like would be cut out or forwarded before you even knew it was a story. Keeper of the stats, the Sox score and play by play, just in case you missed the game. The way his face would light up when he would tell stories of coaching Jonathan’s baseball team and their accomplishments under his leadership. I can still here the “whoomph” when he would talk about a pitch being thrown. From sharing tales about our dogs chasing rabbits, to him coming into the office with something he saw at the store and thought one of the “office girls” would like or our leaving our favorite candy on our desks, or chairs, he was always so thoughtful. He never forgot a date, occasion, family members name or story. Joe was the all-around nice guy and beautiful soul.
Rest in peace my friend! Cheers to you!

I was so sad to hear of Joe’s passing! There was never a boring day at the office when Joe was there. He loved to tease EVERYONE with his antics!!! He also had a big heart and was kind, compassionate, sincere and generous! My condolences to his family! We’ve lost someone special! Sincerely, Alice Costa
