Obituary of Ervin Leroy Hudson

Ervin Leroy Hudson, a man who lived life to the fullest, passed away Friday, January 13th at Lahey Clinic Medical Center after a very brief illness; he was 84 years old.  Born and raised in Lynn, MA he was a graduate of Lynn Classical and continued his education earning a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University before joining the Army, where he was a recipient of the Sharpshooter Badge.  He travelled the world while working for Raytheon and then after his retirement, he ventured into real estate working for Coldwell Banker. 

Erv’s loves were his wife of almost 50 years Nancy, who he met on a blind date, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, skiing, his garden and pool.  Ervin was a true New Englander with a sport or hobby for every season, skiing, golf, gardening, fly fishing.  He always said he wanted to reach the age of 80 so he could ski for free with the super senior savings pass and he reached that goal with great enthusiasm. 

Ervin is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Hensel), his son Scott Hudson and wife Wanda of Hooksett, NH, and daughter Tammy Hudson of Woodbridge, VA.  He was the beloved papa to Ashley LaJoie and husband Jon, Amy Hudson and Ryan Hudson.  He was the great-papa to Destiny, Brianna and JP. He is preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Irene Hudson and sisters Virginia Curley, Doris McGuire/Stansbury and Audrey McManus.

Ervin will be remembered for his amazing spirit and as a man who lived his life with enthusiasm and great love for his family.

Funeral services will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington, MA on Saturday, January 21 at 1 pm.  Services will conclude with military honors.  The burial will be private.
