Diane and family
Judy and I are saddened to learn of Dicks passing. We cannot think of a time where Dick didn’t make us laugh or smile when we were together. Time has a way to erode memories, but not with Dick. He was someone who captured your heart with his humor and presence. May he Rest In Peace and May you and your family find peace.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Dick during a coupe of summers in the mid-70's we worked as laborer's for Murray Hills. When I graduated in 77 I was having a graduation party at my house and asked if would come by in uniform with his dog. He said no problem and would be there. A couple of hundred showed up that night and he was standing there on the front lawn with his dog. There were no problems that evening. I always believed that the respect he had in the town as police officer of many years led to a great night.
Please accept my condolences to the entire Hovasse family.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Richie. When I first met him nearly 40 years ago, he clearly appeared to be a unique individual with boundless energy. Richie, as I called him, would light up a room thru his mere presents and his comic relief.
I will remember Richie as a very hard worker and a deeply loyal friend and loving family man. He was a “Good Man”. He will be missed.
May He Rest in Peace

I remember Dick as a friend of my late brother, Harold DuLong. They were on the football team together. I miss so many of the "guys" who were like older brothers to me back when I was only 5 or 6 years old. So glad you have such great memories.

So sorry to hear of Richards passing. He was so strong and a very impressive lifter. He had the strength of a Horse but was a gentle giant. I will miss his sick humor and corny jokes. Enjoyed working along side Dick on the PD. so many laughs . he will be missed.

I am so, so, sorry for your loss. I was heartbroken to hear of Dick's passing and it pains me to say that I won't be able to attend because I'm recovering from cancer and (according to Drs) my immunities are still too low to be in group settings. Dick was always there for us and it hurts not be be there for him. Rest In Peace cousin!
