Michael A. Richards (Mickey), a man devoted to his family, passed away at his home in Burlington on Monday, February 13, 2023. He was 87 years old. Mickey was born in Kingston Jamaica where he was raised and educated. He was one of six children born to the late Albert and Sybil Richards. He grew up in a close-knit family who cherished music and their faith. The family moved to Massachusetts from Jamaica in 1978. Shortly after his arrival in Massachusetts Mickey found employment at Ralph Pill Electrical Supply Company where he would work until his retirement. Having a strong Catholic faith, the family became parishioners of St. Raphael’s Parish in Medford where he would sing in the choir. Eventually the family moved to Randolph, MA where he quickly became an active member of the Saint Bernardette’s Parish and choir. The family lived in Randolph until moving to Burlington in 2018.

Mickey was the beloved husband of 59 years to Jean (Kirven). They were married on June 27, 1964. He was the loving father of Simone Tigges and her husband Jim of Burlington and Warren Richards & his wife Christine of Duxbury. He was the proud grandfather of Lindsey Woodward & her husband Ben of Reading, Adam Tigges & his fiancée Nina Provencher of Chelmsford and Tyler, Chloe & Sianna Richards of Duxbury. He was also the proud great grandfather of Alexander “A. J.” Woodward. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, their respective spouses, partners and children, all of whom he was very proud and a special part of his life. He was predeceased by his siblings, Theresa Morales, Marie Lewis, Joseph Richards, Claire Richards, and Eunice Richards.
