Kaylin Rose, wife of Todd Rose and mother of Austin and Nathan, passed away on February 18 at the age of 48.

Kaylin was born on November 17, 1974, as the youngest of seven children, to Maurice and Carol Van Orden in Layton, Utah. Kaylin and Todd were high school sweethearts who married in 1993 and had two beautiful children together. They relocated to Cambridge Massachusetts in 2000 so that Todd could attend graduate school. During their time in Cambridge, Kaylin earned her undergraduate degree from UMass Boston, and her masters degree from Harvard, where she studied child development. They moved to Burlington in 2017, where Kaylin became an active member of the community.

Kaylin was a loving mother, beloved wife, and devoted friend who always put the needs of others before her own.

Her childhood was filled with inconceivable trauma; she carried unimaginable pain and converted that pain into kindness that is beyond comprehension. She had every right to resent the world, but instead she chose to be of service, and to love. She always looked for ways to help, to protect, and to take care of others.

Kaylin faced the greatest challenges in life with dignity and selflessness; and lived her life with strength, courage, and a boundless commitment to her family.

Kaylin loved beyond the limits of what a human being can love. She loved until it was physically impossible for her to love anymore. And in the end, it was in showing her love that she found peace.

A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA 01803, on Friday, February 24, at 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 PM, Services will conclude with a burial at Pine Haven Cemetery in Burlington.
