Ann M. Shaughnessy, a retired purchasing agent for Sipex Corp, passed away on February 26, 2023, at the age of 92. Ann was born to her parents John and Rosabelle Griffin in Medford, MA. Ann grew up in Stoneham and lived there until her mid-thirties. Ann worked as a clerk for RadioShack after High School while attending classes at Boston College, one day while she was working, a nice young man by the name of Ray came in. Subsequently, Ray visited the store many times until Ann agreed to go on a date. They were married in December of 1952.
Ann and Ray lived together in Stoneham from 1952 until 1964. While living in Stoneham, they welcomed their two children, their son, Raymond Jr. and daughter, Deborah. Ann and Ray Sr. loved to take the kids on trips, especially camping trips. The family camped all over the east coast and up into Canada. They had a trailer that they would bring, but they also like to get a little more outdoorsy with tents. In 1964 the family moved from Stoneham to Burlington, where they spent 14 years and settled in Billerica in 1978, during the last 10 years of their marriage Ann and Ray wintered in Deland Florida where they enjoyed many family visits, until Ray passed away in 2003.
Ann will be remembered for her big heart and soft, sweet nature. She always was a pleasure to be around. Ann loved to spend time with family, catch up with friends, and genuinely love others. Ann had a love for all things shopping. She was one of Kohl’s best customers. Ann loved to get knickknacks for friends and relatives.
Ann was the beloved wife of the late Raymond J Shaughnessy Sr. She was the dear mother of Raymond Jr. of Billerica and Deborah Nocella and her husband Richard of Pepperell. Ann was the treasured grandmother to Ryan and Alex Nocella. She was the loving sister to her late brother Paul Griffin.
