Obituary of Marcia Ann Gedick
Marcia Ann Gedick “Dunn” of Burlington passed away on May 10, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. Marcia was the beloved wife of the late William F. “Brother” Gedick.
Marcia was born, raised & educated in the Davis Square section of Somerville. She was the daughter of the late George Raymond and Margaret Jean Dunn. Marcia would marry the love of her life Brother Gedick and they settled on Partridge Lane in Burlington in 1959 where they would raise their five children . Marcia later moved into Grandview commons in Burlington where she resided for 15 years until 2023.
Marcia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marcia and Brother were married 49 years at the time of his death in 2008. She provided her family with a warm and loving home. Dinner was always served promptly at 5:30 p.m. and it was a given that holidays would be hosted by Marcia. Many family vacations were spent at the family “log home” in Clairville Canada. Marcia held many fond memories visiting with her Canadian family on those trips. She was a role model for her children and was always there for them. She doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her greatest joy. Marcia’s favorite hobby was crocheting with her afghans being her specialty.
Marcia was a woman of faith. When her children were young she was a member of the Morgairs and helped with the annual bazar. In the early 2000’s she found her new home at the Presbyterian Church in Burlington where she made many friendships and continued to be an active member of the congregation. Marcia was a kind, soft spoken woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Simply put, she was the Matriarch of the Gedick family. Her devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Marcia leaves her family with a lifetime of wonderful memories filled with love and happiness.
Marcia was the beloved wife of the late Brother Gedick. She was the loving mother of William Gedick & his wife Karen of Billerica, Donna Manie & her husband Mike of Newton, Linda Cain & her fiancé Michael Capodilupo of Tewksbury, Barbara McClay & husband Wayne of Moultonborough, NH and the late John Gedick & his wife Barbara formerly of Billerica and mother in law to Tom Cain of Tewksbury.
