Obituary of Judith Martin

Judith (Freire) Martin, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, May 6, 2013. She was 71 years old. Judith was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the daughter of the late Jose and Lucinda Freire. She was the second youngest of 11 children. She made her home in Guayaquil until 1985, when she immigrated to the United States. She made her home in Woburn and for the last 2 years in Stoneham. She had worked as a clerk at Roche Brother’s supermarket for a number of years. Judith was a woman of faith and devoted to her family. She was extremely active in her church and had a deep faith in God. She especially enjoyed listening to Christian music. Her family was the center of her universe. She immigrated to the United States to be closer to her children. She was blessed to have a strong family bond with her children and grandchildren. It gave even more joy to become a great grandmother. Her care, concern, and devotion for her family were steadfast. Her memory will always remain in the hearts of all those who loved her. Judith was the loving mother of Tania Martin, Liliana Pereira, Mariela Benitez, Cinthya Martin, and Frank Martin. She is survived by her sisters; Norma Torres, Elena Diaz, Azuzena Paladines, and Lola Leon. She was the proud grandmother of Sandra, Jonathan, Evelyn, Anthony, Andrea, Brian, Paula, Jason, and Kayla and great grandmother of Cameron Lucas. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Friday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. Concluding with a funeral service at the funeral home at noon. Burial will follow at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
