Obituary of Beatrice Conti

Beatrice (Sabatino) Conti beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on October 28, 2023 at the age of 95. Beatrice was born to her parents Angelo and Mary Sabatino of Somerville, where she grew up and graduated high school. While living in Somerville, she met her husband, Albert. The two fell in love and were married in 1955.  Soon after getting married, they moved to Burlington to their forever home. While living in Burlington, Beatrice and Albert welcomed their three children, Deborah, Stephen and Donald.

Beatrice was the family member who made their house a home and the center of the extended family. She prided herself in her cooking. Beatrice’s dishes were always made with love, as she learned to cook and passed her love of cooking to her children and grandchildren. Beatrice made phenomenal Italian dishes including homemade pasta, artichokes, cookies and pies. There was always enough room at her table for one more person. If extra friends came to dinner, she’d head into the kitchen, and return to the table with another place setting or two. She was very social and loved to have a drink with friends and family while sharing stories and catching up.

In her leisure, Beatrice loved to travel, read and knit. She and Albert started snowbirding in the 90s after her children had all moved out. They would winter in Sebastian, Florida.  Beatrice and Albert loved to travel.  When the children were young, they enjoyed camping and trips across the country.  In later years, they enjoyed more adventurous trips to Italy and numerous European destinations, the Panama Canal and many cruises with family and friends.  One of their most memorable trips was to visit her father’s homeland in Sicily, Italy with her siblings.

Beatrice’s most treasured role was that of grandmother to Alexander and Adeline.  She doted on them, babysat and traveled with them. Beatrice kept in constant contact with Alexander and Adeline even being able to “Facetime” in her 90’s!    Beatrice was a woman of deep Catholic faith and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Margaret’s Parish in Burlington.   After her husband Albert passed away, she continued to live in the family home Stephen who spoiled and cared for her.  In recent months, her daughter Deborah moved in to help with her mother’s care.  Beatrice was always there for her three children and they in return were there for her as health began to decline.

Beatrice was the beloved wife of the late Albert, who passed away in 2018.  She was a loving mother of Deborah Stonier & her fiancé Bruce Jaques of Gilford, NH, Stephen Conti of Burlington and Donald Conti & his wife Anne of Hampton Falls, NH.  Beatrice was the proud grandmother of Alexander and Adeline Conti.  She was the sister of the late Franny Sabatino & his late wife Louise, Edward Sabatino & his wife Carolyn and Annette Deloia & her husband Tony.

A visitation will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 10:30 – 11:30am.  Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret’s Church, in St. Veronica Parish, 111 Winn St., Burlington at noon.  Services will conclude with burial in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
