Obituary of Rajiv Sumanlal Shah

Rajiv Sumanlal Shah, a beloved husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather, passed away on September 11, 2023 at the age of 66, after a long battle with complications followed by a lung transplant in January this year. Rajiv was born in India to his parents, Rasilaben and Sumanlal Shah. Rajiv is survived by his wife, Asha; two sons, Gaurav and Rahul; two daughters-in-law, Nimisha and Neha; and three lovely grandchildren, Jinay, Vivana, and Anaya.

Rajiv was a skilled watch technician and a fine jeweler, and he continued this passion after moving to the United States. When he wasn’t working, Rajiv and Asha loved to travel together. They spent time traveling to India, Europe, China, Costa Rica, and within the United States. Rajiv loved watching sports, especially New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Indian Premier League cricket. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington, MA 01803 on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM. An intimate cremation service will take place at the Puritan Lawn Crematory, 185 Lake Street, Peabody, MA 01960 on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 12:00 PM.
