Obituary of Diane Patricia Luongo
Diane Patricia (Ciampa)Luongo passed away suddenly on September 13, at the age of eighty-one at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. Diane was the beloved wife for 33 years of Anthony P. Luongo.
Diane was born in Medford. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale “Pat” and Justine (Griffin) Ciampa. She was raised and educated in Medford and was a 1959 graduate of Medford high school. Diane attended Massachusetts School of Art where she received her degree in the Commercial Design field, where she worked for many years. Diane was a wonderful artist. Later in life, Diane got interested in real estate, she got her Massachusetts real estate license and was a real estate broker for many years before her retirement.
Diane and Tony have lived in Burlington for many years. They spent a lot of time at the Burlington Council on Aging, participating in many of their trips, activities, lunches and dances. They also took many trips, with the Burlington Recreation Department.
Diane and Tony loved to go dancing and went to Mosley’s On The Charles Dance Hall for many years. They also enjoyed traveling, some of the trips included Hawaii, Bermuda, Branson, Missouri, Disneyland, Maine, Cape Cod and several other locations.
Diane was the beloved wife of Anthony P. Luongo. Diane is survived by her sister Nancy (Ciampa) Rovatti & her husband Joseph of Burlington. She was predeceased by her brothers Michael Ciampa & his late wife Diane of Stoneham and the late John Ciampa of Winthrop. Diane was the loving aunt of nieces Karla (Rovatti) Palmer and her husband Greg and children William & Ava of Pelham, NH, Michelle (Ciampa) Puleo & her Husband Chuck of Woburn and children Samantha & Nicholas, Danielle (Ciampa)Peacock & son Michael of Stoneham. She is also survived by her stepchildren John & Angelia Luongo of Arlington, Karen & Larry Nigro of Townsend, and Paul & Susan Luongo of Townsend. She was step-grandmother to Kevin & Erin Nigro of Southborough, Nicole Nigro of Leominster, Bryanna Luongo of Townsend, and Shannon Luongo of Townsend. Diane was the step-great-grandmother of Annabella & Vincent Nigro of Southborough.
Funeral services will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10am. A visitation will be held following the service from 10:30am to noon. Services will conclude with burial in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
