Obituary of Marcelle R. Kyer
Marcelle (Roy) Kyer, a beloved mother, former 30-year resident of Burlington, and successful entrepreneur, passed away on November 5, 2023 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born in Saint-Leon-Le-Grand Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Luce (Levesque) Roy. She later emigrated to the United States, where she embarked on a remarkable journey that touched the lives of many.
Marcelle began her career as a skilled seamstress, where her talent and dedication were truly remarkable. However, her life took a significant turn when she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Kyer. Together they started their life together in Burlington, where they raised their 5 children.
Marcelle's passion for the culinary arts was evident in her every creation. She delighted in preparing delicious meals, and her culinary talents were renowned throughout her community. Her warm and inviting dishes were the centerpiece of countless gatherings and celebrations. When Bill unexpected passed away, Marcelle launched Les Cinq Frères catering business as a way to support her family. Word of mouth spread quick and it became a sought after business in both private and corporate engagements.
Beyond the kitchen, Marcelle found solace and happiness in the great outdoors. She was an avid gardener and a passionate advocate for the beauty of nature. Marcelle and her beloved husband, Bill, shared a deep love for camping, where they forged lasting memories with their five sons. These outdoor adventures became a cherished family tradition, instilling in her children a profound appreciation for the natural world. Above all else, Marcelle loved her time spent with her adoring grandchildren.
Marcelle later moved from Burlington to a home in Groton she designed herself. There she was able to enjoy a cozier lifestyle that was centered around cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Marcelle Kyer's legacy is one of love, family, and the pursuit of her passions. She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and experience her warmth and kindness. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched.
She was the loving wife of the late William (Bill) J. Kyer, and she was predeceased by her siblings:,Simone Dupis, Denis Roy, Denise, Etienne Roy, Rachelle Dufour and Damas Roy. She is survived by her brother Yvon Roy of Montreal Quebec.
She is survived by her five sons, Mark Kyer and his wife Carol of South Yarmouth MA, Greg Kyer of Bedford NH, Paul Kyer and his wife Michelle of Tyngsboro MA, Karl Kyer and his wife Angie of Stevensville, Montana, and Robert Kyer and his wife Lori of New Boston NH, and her adoring grandchildren Elizbeth, William, Brittany, Dylan, Koen, Kane and Kolby Kyer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her memorial hours on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 12pm to 2pm at Sullivan Funeral Home. Her graveside service will follow in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Arrangements are by the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington.
