Obituary of Phyllis Crimble
Phyllis Marion Crimble passed away at her home in Lynn on Sunday morning, November 12, 2006. The beloved wife of George W. Crimble, she was 79 years old.
At the age of 10 months she was adopted into a loving Christian home by Walter I. and Ethel B. Piper who lived in Lynn, MA. Phyllis graduated from Lynn English High School in 1945 and worked in the refund department at the John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston after graduation. She attended the Advent Christian Church in Lynn where she met her husband, George W. Crimble. They were married on September 24, 1949 and celebrated 57 years of marriage this past September.
Phyllis was a loving, caring woman with a deep faith in God and devoted her life to making a loving home for her husband and children. Her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ guided her throughout her life and sustained and encouraged her during the last months of her life as she battled her illness.
Phyllis enjoyed spending summers at her family cottage in Alton Bay, New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee, which her father built in the 1920’s. She treasured the many special times and memories she shared with her husband, children and grandchildren at “camp”. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed knitting and reading.
In 1972 Phyllis and her family began attending The Church of the Open Bible in Burlington. She and her husband became active members and over the years. Phyllis enjoyed serving the Lord in Sunday School, Junior Church and Woman’s Ministries.
Phyllis is the beloved wife of George W. Crimble. She is the Loving mother of G. Richard Crimble & his wife Susan of Salem, Marcia A. Callahan & her husband Richard D. of Burlington, Carol J. Anderson & her husband Gary L. of Bow, NH, and Karen L. Webster & her husband Wayne E. of Reading. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at the Church of the Open Bible on Saturday, November 18 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in Phyllis’s name may be made to the Open Bible Academy, 3 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803 where eight of her grandchildren graduated from. Funeral Services will be private.
